Quick answer

What data do we collect and why?

We collect what you give us on the enquiry form — name, email, phone, farm or business name, postcode and message — so we can contact you about your solar project and pass your enquiry to an MCS-certified installer partner. We do not sell your data and only keep it as long as needed.

Data we collect

When you fill in the enquiry form, we collect the following information:

  • Your name, email address and phone number, so we can call or write back to you.
  • Your farm or business name, so we can address you correctly and understand your operation.
  • Your postcode, so we can check which network operator covers your area and model generation.
  • The system type you are interested in and any message you add, so our call is useful from the first minute.
  • Whether you own the property, which helps us advise on permitted development and finance.

We also collect analytics data about how the website is used — pages visited, approximate location (region only) and the device type. This is collected through Google Analytics 4 and only after you accept cookies on the consent banner. See our cookie policy for the full details.

Why we collect it

We use your information for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry, give you advice about solar on your farm or business, and arrange a quote and survey if you want one. The legal basis for processing your data is your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the enquiry form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us.

Who we share it with

Your enquiry is handled by our Scottish team. If you proceed to a quote and survey, we pass your contact details and site information to an MCS-certified installer partner who carries out the work. We only share what is needed for them to contact you and prepare your quote. We never sell your data, and we never pass it to any other third party for marketing.

How long we keep it

If you enquire but do not go ahead, we keep your details for 12 months so we can respond to follow-up questions, and then delete them. If you proceed to a quote or installation, we keep your records for the duration of any warranty or guarantee period, and for up to six years after that for tax and contract record purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — ask us what data we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Correction — ask us to fix anything that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Deletion — ask us to erase your data when there is no legal reason to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit processing while a query is resolved.
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing that is not necessary for your enquiry.
