What to include in your request
The more we know at the start, the more useful our first call will be. You do not need technical details, but these points help us prepare:
- Property type: whether it is a home, business premises, a farm or a rural property.
- Your postcode: so we can check your network operator and local planning rules.
- The buildings or land: which roofs face south, east or west, or whether there is a field nearby.
- Your electricity use: a recent bill, or a rough idea of when your heaviest loads run.
- Your timeframe: whether you are planning now or researching for later in the year.
What happens next
1. A call back from our team
We call you on the number you provide to talk through the site, your usage and your goals. If solar is clearly not right for your property, we will say so.
2. A site survey
We check the roof or land, the structure, shading, your incoming supply and the distribution board. On farms we plan around livestock and machinery, and on fragile roofs we follow HSE guidance for safe access.
3. A fixed written quote
You receive a quote setting out the system design, the equipment, a site-specific generation estimate and everything included in the price, including the grid application.
4. Installation through MCS-certified partners
If you go ahead, the system is installed through our MCS-certified partners, then tested, commissioned and handed over with documentation and monitoring.

Before you decide
It is worth reading up while you wait for your call. Our farm solar sizing guide explains how systems are matched to your usage, the agricultural roof guide covers fragile and asbestos cement roofs, and the battery storage guide explains when storage helps. If you run commercial premises, see Business & Farms, and for ways to pay, read our finance and tax relief guide.
